An Aesop Inspired Anthology
Genre: New Adult Fantasy
Historical / High / Low / Dark are all acceptable as long as they stay within the lines of New Adult.
Sweet romance and mild violence acceptable.
Graphic violence and steamy romance will not be accepted.
Word Count cannot exceed 10k words and should be no less than 2k words.

General Submissions
HenDragon Press is currently CLOSED for general submissions. We hope to open our doors for full manuscript submissions in the spring of 2026.
Some facts regarding our submission process:
We accept all genres of fantasy, speculative scifi, and horror.
We do not accept stories with meaningless gore, graphic sexual scenes, or stories involving X-rated content (including, but not limited to incest, human trafficking, excessive instances of abuse, and animal cruelty).
We are looking for stories that combine dreams and reality. Stories that tackle those hard to reach galaxies and unanswered mysteries. We want to be on the edge of our seats and drifting away on the winds of your words. Reading tales that transform our ways of thinking and open us up to new, unique perspectives.
Submissions can be made via email and must include the following:
- QUERY + STORY TITLE + GENRE in the subject line
- Query letter (in the body of the email)
- The first 10 pages of your manuscript (as an attachment, word doc or PDF)
- Document must be formatted following these guidelines: 12pt font, Arial, double spaced, standard 1-inch margins.
- Please include your author contact information (name, email, phone number, website/social media handle) in the top left of the first page of your submission and in the body of of your email.

Listen | The Voices of Nature
Write a poem that gives a voice to nature, focusing on the transition of the seasons; winter to spring, spring to summer, summer to fall, or fall to winter.
Multiple submissions are accepted. Do not submit the same poem more than once. All works submitted will be put through our AI Detector to endsure we are only accepting works from actual humans.
Poems chosen will be featured on our social media outlets and website. The poet will also have the opportunity to be interviewed on our podcast and read their poem.
Poems featured will be published in our first poetry collection in the fall of 2025.
